These Paleo Pumpkin Protein Balls are the perfect snack for all your pumpkin cravings! The healthy no bake bites are packed with protein, and healthy fats and made without any flours, or refined sugars!
These paleo protein balls are my go-to dessert this fall.
Each ball is packed with protein, healthy fats, fiber, and of course pumpkin spice goodness; that will satisfy any sweet tooth!
These energy bites are so simple to make. Place all the ingredients in the food processor, pulse until a dough is formed, then roll into balls.
You can enjoy them right away or place them in the fridge/freezer to chill for 5-10 minutes.
Paleo Pumpkin Protein Ball Ingredients:
To make these paleo pumpkin energy balls you’ll need:
Dairy-free chocolate chips: to keep this recipe Paleo, make sure to buy high quality dairy-free chocolate chips. My favorites are Hu Kitchen Dark Chocolate Gems, and Pascha Organic 85% cacao chocolate chips. If you don’t have any chocolate chips, you can also use a chocolate bar, and break it up into pieces before placing it in the food processor.
Ground flax seed: adds healthy Omega-3 fats, fiber, and protein to these protein balls.
Chia seeds: full of fiber, protein, healthy fats, and other nutrients.
Maple syrup: adds some natural sweetness to the pumpkin balls. Honey can also be used.
Vanillaextract: compliments the pumpkin spice flavor!
Almond butter: the natural almond butter (drippy, runny kind) would be the best for this recipe, but traditional creamy almond butter will work as well! When buying almond butter look for a brand with zero added sugars or oils (like palm oil).
Pulse ingredients until well mixed and chocolate chips are chopped into small pieces.
Roll mixture into 1″- 1 1/2″ balls using your hands or the help of a cookie scooper.
Freeze for 10 minutes or longer until the balls are solid and chill to your liking.
Store in an airtight container in the fridge or freezer.
Paleo Energy Balls Recipe Variations:
Substitute almond butter with: peanut butter, cashew butter, sunflower seed butter, or any other of your favorite nut butters.
Make Vegan by: use a vegan protein powder like Organifi Chocolate Protein Powder.
Substitute maple syrup with: honey, dates (to make them whole30). I have not tried dates with this recipe, but leave a comment down below and let me know how they turn out! I recommend using 1-2 pitted dates, and more if you want the balls sweeter.
Optional add-ins: gluten free oats, shredded coconut, coconut flour, nuts, seeds. Get creative and play with the add-ins listed. *Be aware that they will change the recipe, and it may not work as stated in the recipe card.

*If balls are too dry when rolling them into balls, add a little almond butter or maple syrup to the mixture until it’s gets sticky enough to hold.
