Description

Boost your immune system naturally with this homemade fire cider recipe. Packed with garlic, ginger, turmeric, and apple cider vinegar—this paleo, Whole30, vegan, and gluten-free tonic is perfect for daily wellness.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 cups raw apple cider vinegar (with “the mother”)
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1 head garlic, peeled and smashed
  • 1 piece (2-3 inches) fresh ginger, sliced
  • 1 piece (2-3 inches) fresh turmeric root, sliced (or 1 tbsp ground turmeric)
  • 1 jalapeño or hot chili pepper, sliced
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • 1-2 tbsp raw honey (optional, skip for Whole30)

Instructions

  1. Chop and slice the onion, garlic, ginger, turmeric, jalapeño, and lemon.
  2. Place all chopped ingredients into a large glass jar.
  3. Cover the ingredients completely with raw apple cider vinegar. Press down to remove air bubbles.
  4. Infuse for 3-4 weeks. Seal the jar with a lid and store it in a cool, dark place. Shake daily.
  5. After 3–4 weeks, strain out the solids and stir in raw honey if desired.
  6. Pour the finished fire cider into glass bottles. Take 1–2 tablespoons daily, or use as a salad dressing or marinade.
