BALSAMIC ROASTED BRUSSELS SPROUTS
I’ve been making these brussels sprouts for dinner paired with instant pot bbq pulled pork, and sweet potato fries. And OMG am I obsessed.
Brussels sprouts are easily my favorite vegetable. I will eat them 3-4 times a week. But, this recipe takes plain roasted brussels sprouts to a whole new level.
These crispy roasted brussels sprouts are drizzled with a honey balsamic glaze that’s truly to die for. I’m convinced that even my family members, who are disgusted by brussels sprouts, would love these.
WHAT YOU NEED:
Just five simple ingredients to make this easy side dish.
brussels sprouts – choose medium-large sized brussels sprouts that are bright green
honey – opt for a local honey | use maple syrup or date syrup for a fully vegan version
MY FAVORITE HIGH-QUALITY BALSAMIC VINEGAR
To make these balsamic roasted brussels sprouts, it’s best to have a high quality balsamic vinegar.
I used to have balsamic vinegar from Modena until I realized it isn’t the best quality and contains artificial ingredients. I started researching how to find high-quality balsamic vinegar and wanted to share these tips.
Tip #1: READ THE INGREDIENTS LIST
The first ingredients should say “cooked grape must”, not vinegar. Watch out for the unnecessary ingredient, “caramel coloring” too!
Tip #2: AVOID BALSAMIC VINEGAR OF MODENA
Avoid this imitation product that contains caramel coloring and thickeners like guar gum.
Tip #3: OPT FOR A HIGH QUALITY BALSAMIC VINEGAR
My favorite is Kasandrinos Balsamic Vinegar that contains no artificial thickening agents or colorants.
When buying balsamic vinegar, skip the grocery stores and go to an independent retailer. Smaller shops will have higher quality standards than a store like Walmart.
Directions
Start by trimming the ends and halving the brussels sprouts. If you have larger sprouts, halve each brussels sprout into fourths.
Toss in a bowl with olive oil, salt, and black pepper.
Arrange on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes. Brussels sprouts should be tender and crispy to your liking.
Place brussels sprouts back into the bowl and toss with balsamic vinegar and honey until evenly coated.

lovely recipe, but you should know that honey is NOT vegan. I’m not either, but you should correct that detail on the behalf of others.
Good catch! Adding a vegan replacement suggestion.
